'Bro Daddy' movie starring Mohanlal, Meena, Lalu Alex, Soubin Shahir, Kaniha, Kalyani Priyadarshini and other reputed stars in the Malayalam movie industry, released on OTT platform Disney+Hotstar. The movie was the second directorial debut by actor/director Prithviraj Sukumaran after 'Lucifer'.
I was commissioned to create the opening credits sequence for the movie in the form of an animated comic flip-book. It functions as a small prequel to the movie - telling the story of the character's lives up until the movie begins, in a nostalgic and comedic way.
The process of creating the title sequence started with storyboarding & scripting - on paper. Since the story showcases snippets from the past, I collected inspiration from my parent's childhood, my own experiences and stories from friends.
We brainstormed 8 funny scenes, complete with dialogues. The frames were illustrated on Procreate and animated using Mental Canvas. Meanwhile, the VFX team composited the frames and added fonts to the animation. The entire project took about 3 months to reach completion.
