Concept: Hallway Records
Project: Brand Identity

Overview:
Hallway Records is a conceptual independent record label for dance music, specifically funk, house music, and disco. They launch forward-thinking and experimental dance music from artists who create sounds from their bedroom to the world. The company aims to create an exciting community and experience for artists and fans everywhere. It doesn't matter whether you're a DJ, a producer, a violinist, a singer, or all of it–as long as your sounds make people move, Hallway Records is your home.

The Challenge:
Despite being an indie label, they wanted an identity that could compete with big record companies such as Columbia and Republic Records. They wanted to show that they could push a music brand on a global scale while maintaining its artist-friendliness. Therefore, it must create a "major label" feel, rather than an artsy, underground label.

The Solution:
It is important to convey timelessness with its logo. I gathered inspiration from vintage corporate company logomarks and record labels, while taking away its formality. Through the use of alluring and fluorescent color palette, there was an opportunity to blur the lines between corporate and energetic modern branding. It was also integral to develop a branding that is wearable. I also used a hot pink foil texture to bring the branding to life even more.
