Hello!

This is a collection of illustrations I did that featured my favourite artists. These illustrations were done wholly on Illustrator and with a brush tool and a mouse (as I do not own a Wacom tablet at the moment). I faced many challenges during the process such as not getting the intended line and messy colouring. But with much practice, I managed to get the hang of it.

Hayley Williams of Paramore

Hayley Williams was my first try at illustrating. I did not include the shadows on her face and hair and all the colours on this illustration was solid.

Katy Perry

For this illustration, I only added two tones for her neck and hair. I also did not draw the rest of her body.

Louis Tomlinson of One Direction

With Louis, I finally began illustrating the shadows. I figured that since the image is black and white, it would be slightly easier to draw the shadows. I also drew his shoulders and shirt.

Tristan Evans of The Vamps

As for Tristan, I had taken the risk of illustrating out the shadows on his face in order to further exaggerate on his jawline. There are also different tones, not just for his skin but also his tongue, lips and hair.

Lady Gaga

I chose to illustrate out this image of the Mother Monster because I really liked her dress and headgear. It was also a challenge I was willing to take on. I kept the different geometric shapes filled with solid colours. But I ensured I put in the shadows on her hands and face especially with different tones.

Hayley Williams of Paramore

This is another illustration of Hayley Williams but it's a concert shot. I didn't include her facial features in this one as I wanted to keep it minimal. Did this within 2 hours with a mouse, just like the rest of the illustrations here. :>

Matthew Gray Gubler
(Dr. Spencer Reid in Criminal Minds)

I decided to illustrate my current mancrush as it was his 34th birthday in early March. I'm in love with Criminal Minds and his character, Dr Spencer Reid so I figured illustrating him out would be apt. I initially wanted to remove all outlines but there are certain areas in the portrait that are blended in due to the same color.

As you noticed, I didn't illustrate his facial features as I was not confident in making it look good. I didn't want to destroy his pretty face, hahaha. But I think the skin color came out good. I added his name by the side to identify him as a substitute for his face. Oh, I really like the color of his shirt by the way. :)
