Inclusive Book Design - Books for People with Dyslexia

In meinem finalen Projekt am Griffith College Dublin habe ich mich mit der Frage beschäftigt, wie man es für Menschen mit Legasthenie einfacher machen kann, Bücher zu lesen. Dafür habe ich mir das Buch "Sternenwanderer" von Neil Gaiman vorgenommen und es neu gestaltet, so dass auch Menschen mit Legasthenie Spaß beim lesen haben können.
Meine Hauptzielgruppe sind Kinder zwischen 7 und 12 Jahren, die gerade eine Legasthenie Diagnose bekommen haben. Nachdem ich herausgefunden habe, wie Legasthenie das lesen beeinflusst, und wie man sein Design anpassen kann, um betroffenen Menschen zu helfen, habe ich mich daran gemacht, das Buchcover und den Inhalt neu zu gestalten. Des weiteren habe ich Plakate und Social Media Posts gestaltet, die das Buch bewerben und Aufmerksamkeit auf das Thema Legasthenie lenken. Außerdem habe ich eine Webseite entwickelt, über die das Buch und weitere Bücher verkauft werden können und die über Legasthenie aufklärt und erklärt, wie die Bücher Menschen mit der Leseschwäche beim lesen hilft.
In my final project at Griffith College Dublin I dealt with the question of how to make it easier for people with dyslexia to read books. To do this, I took the book "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman as a model and redesigned it to make it easy and fun to read even for people affected by dyslexia.
My main target group are young children between 7 and 12 who just got diagnosed with dyslexia. After finding out how dyslexia affects reading and how to adapt your design to help these people, I started to redesign the book cover and the content. Furthermore, I designed posters and social media posts to promote the book and raise awareness about dyslexia. I also developed a website to distribute this and further books and to educate about dyslexia and how the books support people with the condition.
