Amazing Animal Project
Background
The objective of this project was to find an interesting animal and create four designs to showcase its uniqueness. I decided to pick a lemur so I found a full body image of this animal online. I had to draw an encyclopedia drawing, create a logo, do a gesture drawing and lastly a transformation drawing.

Encyclopedia Drawing
I used a variety of art supplies to create the encyclopedia drawing. I first used tracing paper to obtain a realistic body image of the lemur. I used various sized pencils to match the size of the animal's fur and its finer details. I created the drawing on a Bristol board for the final outcome.
Logo Timeline
I used the principles of design to create these logos. I wanted each of my logos to be different from one another while still incorporating various design techniques.
I ended up choosing this logo as I believed it incorporated many principles of design.
Gesture Drawings
These 8 gesture drawings were my favorite out of all 20 of them. The point of the gesture drawing was to quickly draw the animal, about 30-60 seconds for each one. I had to get loose with my arm to quickly draw the lemur. I used micron pens, a Japanese art brush, and sharpies to create these images.
Final Gesture Drawing
My top pick for the gesture drawing was #2. I believe the pen strokes captured the essence of lemurs, that is how they look frightened all the time!
Transformation Timeline
The purpose of the transformation drawing was to get creative and transform the animal to something unique.
