2021 Alpine F1 Team Projects

A522 Livery
As part of the in-house team that designed and developed the race Livery for the 2020 F1 season. with a complete branding and identity change from Renault to their sub-brand in Alpine the challenge and enjoyment of both working with a new identity and colour pallette was extremely challenging and exciting.

Extensive time set out profiling and splitting the sections of the car with variations explored for the french flag/A angle at the rear of the chassis and how the lines of the carbon splitting the dark base with the matte-metallic alpine blue were applied.

F1 is a team sport and the Livery was a team effort, very proud to have been part of it.

A522 Launch Renders
My key responsibility ahead of the reveal of the A522 was creating, rendering and applying the post production to our CGI launch shots

Trying to achieve a good balance between atmosphere, lighting and materials, it was a steep learning curve with 2 new render programs used to give us the maximum results and effects for our launch imagery with the timeframe of less than a month to go from learning the programs to scene setting and eventually the final shots.
Also rendered for the launch were a selection of 'outdoor' shots
based on the turntable used in the animation reveal
2022 Race Posters

One of the highlights of the season was working with our Senior Designer on this year's race posters, we always try to push ourselves ahead of the competition, and this year we took on the task of building futuristic, boundary exploring fully CGI scenes, based on our alternative reality of the future of racing at these locations, with extreme changes such as driving upside down in the tunnel at Monaco, or turning Eau Rouge at spa into a roller-coaster like set of turns.

very fun to be allowed to let our creativity be explored with these sets and with each scene being set in at typographical environment where we transition from the top view spelling out that weekend's race with buildings or lighting etc and sweep deeper inside to view the 'hero shot of the car'

the entire set of 3D builds and animations were created by our senior designer Paul, with myself doing the material texturing, scene lighting/rendering and post production
Virtual le Mans Liveries

Standard Alpine livery for car 15 and an R25 homage design for car 36 created ahead of the event for the Alpine Esports team

For the Alpine car, a heavy use of carbon to draw a new silhouette on the chassis with every cut following the same angle as the Alpine A, that also features tone-on-tone onto the side pod with French flags to line each element

and for the R25 homage car, the classic yellow has been added to differentiate the two cars on the grid
A110 Driver Edition Renders
Working with the designs team at Alpine cars to develop and redner the reveal images for the A110 'Driver edition' specials.

set in our F1 launch scene but with much more focus on improving lighting, materials and post production than at the season start to bring it up to the very high standard needed for the road car division.
