Graphics inspired by the teaser photos for CHILD, the upcoming solo debut by South Korean-Canadian artist and NCT main rapper Mark Lee. CHILD is the first song to be released under the project NCT LAB, where various NCT members can release and present self-made performances and songs.
Though CHILD is set to be released on February 4th 2022, I've already personally pondered on the possible themes in the song, which is reported to have been co-written by Mark. I've come to admire Mark's sense of introspection, especially when he talks about his roots or his growth (as an idol and as a person) in his lyrics. Hence the playing card design — a nod to the gamble that Mark took to exchange his childhood and youth in order to make a name for himself on the world stage. The chosen photos are also symmetrical contrasts of his origin (NCT U - The 7th Sense) and his present/future (NCT Lab - CHILD).
