Milla, Marina e Mariella

Milla, Marina e Mariella
Once upon a time there were three slippers made of plastic, like most of the ones we wear on our feet. The only difference is that these had a name. Milla was born in Turin, while Mariella was from Switzerland and Marina, who was the youngest, from distant Connecticut. All three lived their life of slippers until, at a certain point, they turned into something else: waste.

Between an illustrated fairy tale and a communication and information design project, the story of the three slippers become an opportunity to talk about the data of plastic pollution. The project is developed in four books collected in a slipcase.

"Milla Marina and Mariella. The different destiny of three plastic slippers" is an illustrated story starring three anthropomorphic characters. The story is developed in four books; the first "There were three slippers" is the introduction, and the other three "Milla", "Marina" and "Mariella" are each dedicated to one of the protagonists. The journey of the three slippers is the expedient that facilitates the understanding of the main theme of the project: the impact that plastic has on our ecosystem. In fact there are three parallel story which help in understanding the disposal process respectively in landfills (Milla), marine plastic pollution (Marina) and proper recycling of the material (Mariella).
