One moody, rainy day a few months ago, we were in dire need of some good, uplifting feelings.

So we went straight to the guy who can cheer you up just by looking at his art.
Actually, just by uttering his name: Renaud Lavency (try it!).

So guess what? COLLABORATION.

This is the first of a series of small collabs we’re doing with dear friends.

So get ready to feel good.
We asked Renaud to give us some insight about his childhood in the legendary
Kingdom of Belgium. So he came up with this lovely piece that made it clear
little Renaud has been tripping since forever!

My friends and I used to play football a lot, but one thing about Belgium is that it’s freaking
rainy! So every afternoon, we would play  Nintendo instead of football. Belgium is actually
a beautiful country... but only 10 days a year ^^
Another good memory about my childhood were those lunch boxes my mother
used to make. It was more about candy than lunch but it was cute of her ^^
Back then, my favorite food was cornflakes. And my little secret is that I used
my orange juice (Fanta) instead of milk. I know it sounds awful! So I put both
in the illustration but not together–people wouldn’t understand.
Renaud’s frame conveyed those blissful instants of attentive curiosity we all had as children,
where everything is perfectly calm and stable, but only for a brief moment.

So we decided to also show some of the other, more chaotic moments everybody dealt with.
It’s all about striking the right balance!
