STAINLESS STEEL TEMPLE

PHRA MAHA CHENDI TRIPOB TRIMONGKOL ( เจดีย์สแตนเลส )
HATYAI - THAILAND
This unique temple is located in KhaoKho Hong mountain outside Hatyai City in the southern part of Thailand. It was built in B.E 2549 (2006) that took 160 days to complete! and on the occasion of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the King BhumibolAdulyadej's accession to the throne. Each door in the temple represents 8 days in a week and each day also has its own Buddha image in different attitudes.
This unique temple with a long (hard to remember) name is made of stainless steel! When I first heard that this temple was built entirely using stainless steel, I was thinking it must be "squarish" and noisy since steel made high clicking noises easily. But it turn out the opposite, the design was soft and blended with a surrounded forest .... the noise was calming as it was coming from wind chimes that blows by cool mountain air. Enjoy!
Thank you for traveling with me!
This is part of my ongoing travel visual clips, where I share a glimpse of my travel visuals and thoughts. Each series features a paragraph about the history of the place, followed by a paragraph describing my thoughts while exploring that place. Accompanied by no more than fifteen carefully curated images that I took, each series is intended to give you the umami of travel. - Julius Yls
