2017 EXHIBITION: EOL Centre Eolien Saint Nazaire / FR

EOL
permanent exhibition on the wind farm of Saint-Nazaire in France

The man and the wind is an old story, but it is also a bearer of modernity and new energy. To produce more and better / cleaner the electricity that makes the world go round, a great human adventure and technology was born off the coast of Saint-Nazaire with an offshore wind farm, a development tool for the territory and comfort for all! This is all that will be discussed here, but let's start from the beginning ... Welcome to ÉOL!

Competition drawings:

For millennia, humans have used the wind to create energy. Then electricity became the new energy embodying modernity. But how can we produce more and better? Thanks to the offshore wind farm, like the one in Saint-Nazaire!  A human and technological adventure which contributes to developing the territory for the benefit of all

The permanent exhibition on the wind farm of Saint-Nazaire is reality!

EOL is a tourist equipment for the general public for discovering wind power at sea with a dual dimension of both fun and discovery through experience. The center is organized around 4 sequences which correspond to 4 major themes:- Air, wind and the history of its use by humans. Fun equipment will be made available to visitors to understand the force of the wind and its uses.- Electricity takes such a place in our daily life that it has become essential. This didactic sequence will make it possible to become aware of the importance of electricity, from its production to its consumption, through everyday examples. The energy transition has revolutionized the methods of electricity production and consumption. Wind farms at sea are one of the solutions for producing electricity differently. A fun sequence on the construction of a wind farm will allow the public to immerse themselves in the reality of a project. The offshore wind professions are also highlighted in this part of the exhibition, as around ten professions in the sector are highlighted. Finally, there will also be the possibility of visualizing a wind farm at sea with a 3-dimensional immersion in a wind farm at sea in operation.- The last sequence is organized around a large panoramic terrace which will make it possible to see in augmented reality the various sites linked to renewable marine energies in the territory of Saint-Nazaire. The various players in the sector will be represented there.
This project was realised for Kascen BE.
My role was to conceive the exhibition and realise the competition drawings. I also realised the 3D printing model of someone of the object part of the exhibition, like for example the wind power turbine.

This particular equipment serves to make the visitor understand how much energy is needed to operate a wind turbine. How does it work? one or more visitors operate the stationary bikes and activate the wind machine over them. The wind turbine 3D model is placed in front of them. The more wind they produce with their pedaling, the faster the wind blade spins while the electricity produced is projected on the concrete wall!
Funny right?

THANKS FOR WATCHING!
