Keep your little engine drivers on the right track with this knitted train set for hours of fun and imaginative play. From front to back the set includes the steam engine, coal truck, passenger carriage, freight truck and brake van. All are coupled together with button fastenings.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the train set is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour

One size only - The engine is 11.5cm long, coal truck 7.5cm long, passenger carriage and freight truck 9cm long, brake van 8.5cm long.
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, this pattern incorporates knitting stripes, intarsia colour-work for the windows, and a 3 needle bind off. Other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
