STONE STAGE
 "Living" magazine

The artist hopes that this “magazine” can be blended with different arts. Each issue can display a unique theme in a multi-faceted manner, as well as hoping that different content can inspire different ideas. People's different interpretations and discussions on the content make each issue of the magazine completed and consummated eventually.

1 Multidimensional "stage"
We use auxiliary functions to fill the relatively irregular space to maximally ensure the integrity of the exhibition hall. Because of its completeness and purity, it has unlimited possibilities. The exhibition hall becomes a comprehensive stage that can carry multiple art forms.
The designer hides interesting nitty-gritty in the black and white space, and let the space produce the artist's own mark, as well as giving customers the joy of constant discovery during the stroll.

2 Community “Stage”
A stone staircase was designed under the escalator on the side of the store, which not only defines the place, but also decorates the outdoors. Sitting under the eaves and having a rest, you can see the friendly smiling faces of the shop assistants and the constantly changing community ukiyo-e. The music that makes people can't help but sway gently, seems to return to the easy and carefree chatting in the neighborhood after a meal when I was young.
With the music that makes people can't help but sway gently, which seems to return to childhood as chatting easily and carefreely in the neighborhood after a meal.

3 Inquisitive opening
Art is not a mysterious face above the top. We deliberately designed multiple openings, which hopes to dissolve the boundary between the exhibition hall and the public.
Let community residents experience and approach art in a more relaxed and natural way. With child-like curiosity, from slowly touching to gradually participating, finally let art go to daily life and the public, like a friend around me.
We have designed two paths of entrance; after passing through the geometrically cut porch on the left, the facing is a gradient mirror, there is a glass sliding door on the right; the other is a revolving stone door with a width of 2.7 meters, which is not only a display of the façade but also a passage into the interior. The different angles of opening and closing are different external postures, and they will be completely opened in winter. Laying on recliners, it will be a good place to enjoy a drink and a happy conversation.

4 Open bar
The coffee bar station has the largest opening cut on this STONE. Through the fine arrangement of the equipment and the space movement, the coffee bar is compressed to the minimum to ensure the comfort of the exhibition hall. This space produces highly concentrated products and our greatest enthusiasm.
When the window is opened, the aroma of coffee overflows, with the laughter and the sound of live music; when the window is closed, the shadows of trees will be reflected on the glass, as well as the lights on the opposite shop window and the figures coming and going. Just like picture frames embedded in a stone.

5 Seeds of culture desert
We hope that through the magazine and the space, some seeds will be sown in Shenzhen, a city that was once defined as a cultural desert so that the niche aesthetics that have been pushed away, the ideals of bookstores that have disappeared, and the warmth of the neighborhoods have been eliminated can leave some marks and glimmers and come back again.

When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it but all that had gone before .
