Animated Infographic
Preparing a project on such a research intensive topic with +190 country names is not easy, but if it is segmented into complementary processes, then it would feel much more fluid. And that's what was done.
1. The first part is the most important part, in this, the entire project and storyline was planned, a wide-scale online research was done so as to gather as many relevant country name origin stories and meanings as possible, then those were categorized into the main parts of the narrative while strategically giving more attention to certain details, and those information and data were expressed using video friendly scripts that convey the meaning in an informative but also exciting manner.
2. This was the design stage. First, a design method was decided, in this case, the content is to be designed into Animated Infographics (Gifographics) each in 4:5 social media friendly artboards with the main plan in mind being to be used as two parts of 10-slides-long Animated Instagram Carousels to showcase the power of that technique. It could also later be used:
• As a single video with transitions between the 'slides'
• As a web friendly single block of vertical infographic to be used on websites and blogs
• As a reel material in two distinct ways

For this reason, a storyboard was prepared to tell the story with future animations in mind, the storyboard consisted of 18 frames. Finally, the infographic was created using Illustrator and Photoshop with giving chief importance to the usability; in this case the readability, this was done by maintaining proper contrast and attractive typography. The graphic elements and illustrations were created or outsourced so as to visualize the data using mainly the provided color scheme and style of the owners, but also resorting to other colors or styles whenever needed. The elements in each document were prepared to be animated next.
3. Now, then. As a motion designer you can't help but think of this stage throughout every project, this helped shorten the time interval needed for this significant stage since most animations were vividly imagined before. In this stage, each document was imported into an After Effects composition where it was then animated. All animations are in 6 seconds long seamless lထps, no large block of text is animated so as to maintain readability, and a variety of animations and effects are used across the slides. The main goals of the animations are to introduce some fun or explanatory and exciting movements into the otherwise mundane text and graphics, and to visualize the data and meanings wherever possible so as to engage the viewers while also simplifying the concepts and providing a more memorable experience for the reader.
These types of media make for great web content and social media posts as videos, carousels and reels. Providing valuable content while paying attention to business Identity serves for marketing and brand recognition
