The Red Bull BC One event is the largest and most prestigious one-on-one breaking competition in the world. Each country organizes its qualifying rounds to try to reach the final phase of this dance competition whose origins are based on break dance, thousands of breakers are preparing to reach the finals. Some 16 B-Boys and 16 B-Girls earn with their tenacity and effort the right to fight for glory on the Red Bull BC One stage, only one will win the coveted BC One champion laureate crown.
Since 2004, major world finals have been held in major cities around the world. Red Bull BC One has about 60 qualifying events and programs (cyphers and camps) in more than 30 venues.
From Red Bull BC One, one of the most competitive breaking crews in the world was born, the Red Bull BC One All Stars. And with this great cultural and competitive event, as is any good sports discipline, in 2016 the Japanese Olympic Committee recognized this type of dance competition as an Olympic sport.
For these compelling reasons, the Japanese company Panasonic Corp, in its Technics division, launches this limited edition of the Red Bull BC One SL-1200 / 1210MK7R turntable, based on the latest model(2019), the SL1200MK7, to frame its association with the largest breakdance competition in the world, and given that one of the main characteristics is that the music used is made through the legendary professional turntables, which embodies the “artisan” aspect of this spectacular Olympic sport.
Retaining the innovative features of the MK7 model, slight visual touches are added that give it a touch of visual distinction such as the head holder in red, and the tone arm with its unmistakable “S” shape in sand gold metallic, along with a slipmatt with your BC ONE competition logo.
The Technics SL1200 turntable whose first prototype appeared in 1972, has been the best-selling in history, and has also for decades become the professional standard for the best booths of the best DJs on the planet, competing or coexisting today with the DDJs and DJ controllers, there are some copies of this mythical musical instrument in the London Science Museum, as one of the 100 objects that has most influenced humanity in the 20th century
