Portrait of a Pixel-Perfect Raccoon

I've always loved the raccoon figure, and it was something that I've wanted to do for a long time. To note, I've had this model sitting in my computer for months already, and this little guy will have a cameo in another piece. To bring awareness of my next piece, it seemed fitting for him to be part of this series.

This piece continues the "Pixel Perfect" series, which uses a custom dithering algorithm. What this means is that from up-close you will see the pixels blend into each other - a technique games utilized in the 80s and 90s. Since the piece is rather large for the scale of the pixels, it's not just lo-fi but super lo-fi, the use of vintage techniques or effects with contemporary tech. In a sense, the piece itself could pass as a form of pixel art.

I really enjoy the color contrast, the warm tones in front of purple, and to my surprise, the raccoon texture seems to work well. Meanwhile, it's so much better to have the figure posed in some way. It definitely gives out more character.

Thank you!
