Portrait of a Pixel-Perfect Bombardier Beetle

Pixel perfection could be as subtle as the textures contained in a piece. I initially wanted to add primitive blocks of brush strokes but didn't seem to correspond with the dithering intent. Instead, I've opted to have brush strokes co-exist with dithered pixels in the most elegant way possible to give the foreground a better pop. It would seem like a poor-man's depth of field by having the front brighter than the back but there's definitely a dualism here.

Using my custom dithering shader this showcases the use of textures in some areas to make a differential front/back dichotomy. It's a light touch but without this feature it would appear like it's missing something, something akin to a missing bass player in concert.

Thank you!
