Inspired by Love

My objective in creating this animation was to show how love can make the world a better place. This animation was inspired by an uplifting speech I listened to recently. It talked about how we all should show love more to others. I created this animation so I can share that message on Instagram.  

Pencil to Paper

My idea was fairly simple. I selected the heart shape to symbolize love. I gave eyes to the Earth and the heart shape, and added arms to the heart. This made them more individual and gave them character. I sketched this animation while I was listening to the speech.

Try the Puppet Pin Tool

I was given feedback on the eye animation of one of my early drafts. I used an opacity change to change the earth's face from sad to happy. This resulted in a weird meld of happy and sad for a second before the completion of the opacity change. I was counseled to recreate the eyes as a straight line and then use the puppet pin tool to manipulate them. This helped me accomplish my objectives in a cleaner way. 

This animation well conveys the message I wanted to share. It shows the healing and happiness love brings, while also being cute to watch. I am excited to put it on Instagram!
