Introduction

My role as a visual designer was designing ads, illustrations, custom iconography, and generating low and high-quality mockups for iOS and our web platform.

Also, I created some UX artifacts such as defining Personas, tasks maps, journey maps, and analyzing the user's feedback through interviews.

I was in recurrent communication with the Product Owner, CTO, and the Dev lead to plan the roadmap and following releases. We followed a mix of methodologies between SCRUM and Waterfall to achieve goals.
As a soccer-related startup, we had a lot of contact with some teams in La Liga MX, the premium division of the soccer league in Mexico. We sealed a deal with Club America, one of the most popular teams in Mexico, to provided data, SSO logins, and other statistics through our API.
Personas

Defining Personas was challenging but satisfying. We had a broad audience as a target: players of almost all ages, parents who supported their children, football fans, football managers, local leagues, and professional teams.
I created graphic representations of our Personas to be used in our brand imagery to reinforce the message of values, goals, and needs of our users.

The following images are examples of hand-made illustration with a comic style to connect with younger players.
From metrics and feedbacks to features

When I started working in metrics and digesting and analyzing user's feedbacks alongside the CTO and the Product Owner, we conclude that the abandonment of users was due to the lack of relevant football news and events in real-time.

This process took around two weeks to be understood, analyzed, and discussed for generating the requirements.
Challenges

One of my first goals for the first quarter was creating a live ticker, fixtures, and game facts for iOS.

After the feature's implementation a few weeks later, we could detect organic interactions in posts and articles, and we received new adoptions every day.
Pro and amateur game

After releasing the pro game feature, we focused now on creating a version for local leagues. Leagues managers and coaches asked for an administrator feature where they can have the option for adding teams, players, and scheduling matches.

For this new feature, we started designing this new one taking the structure of the pro game and adding new features needed to complement this one.
