True to its essence, Amazon Karigar, Handcrafted with love, this film literally has been handcrafted with love. The idea was to create elaborate miniatures, handcrafted with various handicrafts from India that come together to form mesmerising worlds that carries a nostalgia of the place of origin of the craft. Immense detailing in the miniatures has been carried out for a real life experience upclose which then reveals into a surreal magical world of handicrafts being crafted by exceptionally skilled artisans. The film is an ode to the artisans who create these magical art pieces and the idea of the visual experience also derived from the crafts itself. From ornate woodworking to brass and royal blue pottery, the film is a poetic, colorful journey into the world of Karigars or Indian craftsmen. The film mixes the real with the magical as it travels through the endless handcrafts created in India. The film took 6 months of planning and close to a month of prep and shot over 3 days.
