This is a logo concept I created for an up-coming design magazine,
which will be put together by the graphic design students from CATC Gold Coast.

Original sketches.
At first, I created some basic shapes using mainly ellipses, ractangles and lots of pen tool.
The tricky part was how to incorporate the letter "Z" into the capital "D" using the negative space.
Simple version made in Illustrator. Another layer was then added on the top, where
all shapes have an offset path filled with gradient to create a glossy feel and depth.

Final version with all of the effects, including a little bit of emboss on the bottom layer.
