Fun Facts! Part 1 (Series; 2021)

Illustrating weird and wonderful facts about animals and the natural world.

The omnivorous maned wolf - Their diet consists of roughly equal parts vegetation and small animals, and they play a part in dispersing seeds throughout the cerrado. One particular fruit, the lobeira or wolf apple, is an important staple: it can make up over 50% of ingested fruit biomass in some seasons.
The okapi's impressive tongue - Okapi are members of the Giraffidae family alongside the more familiar giraffe. Like the giraffe, okapis have long prehensile tongues that they use for reaching forage (as well as cleaning their own eyes and ears!). Though the okapi is much smaller than the giraffe, both species’ tongues can be up to 18 inches long.
