ABOUT THE CLIENT: Great Noise Ensemble is an up-and-coming alt-classical music group in Washington, D.C. with a rock-&-roll vision for classical music. Their founder, Armando Bayolo, states the group's mission succinctly: "What we want to do is to show people that 'classical' music is a living, vibrant tradition that is far from being the museum art of dead men played incredibly formally by people dressed very uncomfortably."
ABOUT THE PROJECT: They needed a website that communicated that aesthetic as well as serving as a user-friendly portal for both their fans and members to access information. I designed a site for them that reflects both sides of that coin: a front end that reflects their personality and makes it easy to find information about their work and upcoming performances including tickets, calendars, and program notes, and a back-end interface where member performers can access rehearsal materials, schedules, and updates as well as communicate with each other via integrated social networking and forum functionality.
PROJECT RESULTS: Since the launch of the new site they've reported a 75% increase in online sales and bookings, as well as a much higher press profile.
