The Chase (MA Dissertation Project)

Georgia wrote ‘The Chase’ while working as a teaching assistant, observing the class dynamics in the playground. The book aims to encourage children to accept and embrace their feelings of insecurity and fears of failure. The artwork was inspired by her daily walks during the lockdowns and observational drawings in her local park; a place which became very important to her over the past year as the man made world ground to a halt. As the setting remains constant throughout this story, Georgia experimented with angles and creating a sense of movement, to keep her compositions exciting and dynamic. The coloured pages of the project were made predominantly with gouache, pencil and crayon.
