URTH — Shadow of the Torturer (Cover Art)

Graphic design for “Shadow of the Torturer” by URTH
“Shadow of the Torturer” is the debut album from ambient project URTH, and the second release by the LOŻA Oficyna label which I am one of the founders of.
Soundtrack to time decaying into countless sombre futures. The sound of URTH sprawls over different genres of electronic music: on the one hand, there’s a palpable influence of dark ambient, on the other, the strong connection to repetitive rhythm and melody evokes the Berlin School. It’s an eclectic, funereal, ambient collage that slides between genres and meanings.
The album is released on a CD in a black jewel case. For the booklet design I have used four beautiful photos by Sebastian Płonka, a young and very talented Polish photographer.
URTH's logotype, a custom font and CD print design were all created by Rafał Janik.
“Shadow of the Torturer” has also been released in a premium version, which apart from your standard CD in jewel case also contains a 36-page book by Kamil Wałęcki featuring his original poetic prose in Polish language, inspired by Gene R. Wolfe's work.

The book also contains a gallery of photographs by both me and Kamil Wałęcki.
The album can be bought on URTH's Bandcamp page: urth.bandcamp.com
