Manananggal (Philippine Mythology)
A manananggal is a mythical creature that is usually compared to vampires. In daylight, it shows itself as a beautiful woman, but as night comes, the woman grows bat wings on its back, her fingernails become sharp, and her upper half body dislodges from her lower part and she flies around at night to go hunting. She preys on animals such as live chickens, dogs, and human flesh but a pregnant woman is her most favorite thing to eat.
