- With the intention to create a place that allows accommodating communal activities and a space for the townsfolk just for the purpose of gathering them, it lead to the steps of Designing the Hybrid Community Center. Giving the certain feeling of a serene place and in the same time the impression of something abstract, just like a movie set that is there to depict a non-space without being distinguished. The huge garden with the topiary plants, with the slim cypress trees and a well-kept grass delivers the mood of a utopian society. The entrance to the underground contents is minimal in proportion with the large green space just to take the illusion of there being nothing a step further.
The accompanying spaces on four sides of the entrance are mainly to create a feeling that carves in to the memory while the users experience the space as a whole. A levitating pond, a topiary maze with a hidden entrance in the middle, the large circles of glass that you can stand on them while having an inhabited space underneath and a more private area of designed seats surrounded with Cypress trees to separate visually from outside, make the whole route of memory inducing locations.
The glass covered round openings on the ceiling illuminate the interiors for a natural looking light, followed with an uncertainty of being exposed. Huge spaces with sparse furniture offer the opportunity of a seclusion of groups if needed, while the abstract figures accompany the contradicting feelings of the whole complex as if there is something off, but the same time a calming and peaceful location.
