Pasta Balotta introduced a new concept into the Maltese market which merged the pleasure of cooking pasta with the convenience of having the ingredients brought straight to the client’s door. The project involved the a full identity exercise and creative direction for the whole range of products that the brand presented to the public.

Creating an identity to reflect the artisan heritage and versatility of the products
Balotta set out to be the first company delivering fresh pasta in Malta and Milan through an online portal. 

We were commissioned to create a befitting identity along with creating the user experience for their website along with a unique packaging system. When crafting the Balotta logo we made reference to the traditional pasta roller. The ‘mattarello’, as it is called is interacting with the wordmark creating the focal point for the whole brand.

The client wanted a website which provided the user with information on the origins of the pasta and on the use of genuine ingredients. The design relied on the use of the brand colours to achieve a uniform look. The use of a serif body text combined with a bold title font paired with the elegant script, reflects the versatility of the Pasta Balotta products whilst still keeping within the classic, Italian brand identity.
