The Afternoon Knock-Storyboarding

For the storytelling and narrative module of our Fashion Media subject, we were asked to make a storyboard of a story about a social cause.
The story, which I chose was "The afternoon knock". It was written by Sanchita Seth, I illustrated the storyboard.
The afternoon knock
It was a cold winter afternoon, and it was snowing outside. Bill was sitting on his Armchair with a book on his hand and his glasses clinging to his sharp nose, while he was staring into the fireplace, searching for warmth. He was lost in his thoughts and started drifting off to sleep. The fire still lit was lighting his tender old face, making his white beard and hair shine like silver. There was an expression of worry and sadness on his face.
Suddenly, There was a sharp knock at the door. Bill stands up and walks slowly towards the main door wondering who might be out in such cold stormy weather. He opens the door and his face lights up, a smile brightens and with teary eyes, he hugs his wife. “Why did it take you so long Agatha? Who goes for a morning walk and returns in the afternoon? Come inside love and give me your coat. I will put it to dry.”
Agatha enters the place and walks towards the armchair where Bill was sitting. “Oh, Bill! You are reading this book again for the twentieth time I guess? I gifted it to you 35 years ago. Are you not bored of it? Bill smiles and says “How can I? This book is my favorite, It reminds me of our old times and it so much resembles our love story. Every time I read it, I go back into the time when we were in college and I was chasing you, the girl of my dreams.” They talk about the time they used to spend together and how those days were the best days of their life.
Agatha blushes and walks away, “ Ah Bill, you won’t ever get tired of flirting with me, Will you?” Bill shakes his head in disagreement “Not any time soon” “I missed you, Agatha… Where were you? You said You won’t leave me. I don’t want to live without you, Agatha”. They sit together and reminisce about their old memories. Bill wakes up abruptly and tears start to form in his eyes. He regrets waking up, as dreams are the only place where he could meet Agatha now. He looks towards her picture kept over the fireplace and the flashback hits him hard. He remembers the morning Agatha went for a morning walk and never returned. The next day, The newspaper came with the most heart-piercing news for Bill “A 65 years old lady out for a walk gets killed by a speeding car.”
5 years have passed but the memories are still fresh in Bill’s mind. His life has turned miserable without her. Agatha was his friend and her absence in his life was his weakness. He still read the novel everyday which she gifted him, as it takes him back to the time when she was with him and this book was the closest he could get to her.
Bill lost in Agatha and his memories together, starts drifting off to sleep again, and this time who knows, death might knock his door.
