Graphic design for “Oddech” by Studnia
“Oddech” is the debut album from illbient duo Studnia, and also the very first release from a newly formed label: LOŻA Oficyna.
Music of Studnia is a gloomy blend of a dark ambient atmosphere and drum 'n bass rhythmicity. It is also heavily grounded in the tradition of common people storytelling, as the main album concept comes from a particular folk tale. “Oddech” tells a story of a lost wanderer who falls down into a desolate well and ends his life there.
The album took almost a year to record and was mostly done during the world-wide pandemic of COVID-19. You could not imagine a more adequate time for this premiere. Isn't it like we are all trapped in such a metaphorical well, grasping for every breath and trying to get ourselves out of there?

The album is released on a CD in a black jewel case. The booklet is a unique design as well: a four-fold polyptych featuring photographs of dark sculptures by Romanian artist 33 Thirsty Tree and poems by Michał Rek and Mateusz Ciszczoń.
