Stripe – a bags family.

There were several precursors for this collection to see the light of the day. For one I've been turned into a fan of small shoulder purses when I travelled to London sometime in 2005 or 2006. At some point I've found myself at Covent Garden looking at a small purse. The woman selling these bags told me how much more appealing men are when they actually care about orderly looks (not that I was looking zombie-like or something) and that this bag will surely help me get all of the small things out of my pockets.
I bought it.
And then I've bought another one.
And one more for my wife.

With the launch of van Wright I was thinking about doing something along the lines, but this time not just for adults but also for kids. So I've taken a stripe of old jeans, bent it, sewn it and so the first prototype was ready. A passport and a Javaanse Jonghens should fit in the smallest one – that was the briefing. The medium size holds an eReader and a Moleskine notebook, the large one holds most of the tablets – an iPad, a Surface or a Nexus. Several prototypes later I am finally happy with what I've got here.

All three sizes of the Stripe bags are now available at vanwright.com and on Amazon.de. Easy, minimal, made of fine calf or lamb leather. Handcrafted in Germany.
