HOW TO RESIST DISINFODEMIC · Poster Biennale Warsaw

27th International Poster Competition Biennale Warsaw
Resisting Disinfodemic: Media and Information Literacy for everyone and by everyone.

Global Media and Information Literacy Week’s goals are the promotion of media and digital education. Media Education’ s mission is to direct towards obtaining new skill in utilizing the media and information and communications technologies. The result of these efforts is the creation of media and informational competence, that allows for responsible and critical consumption of information, and also the creation of such for oneself. The celebration of the MIL week is to draw attention to the extremely important issue that frequently appears in the context of the civilizational challenges or he modern era. That in this increasingly digitized world, an advanced skill of consuming the media is one of the most crucial factors in making well informed decisions. The UNESCO initiative serves the promotion of the skills needed to explore all the possibilities that the digital world offers, with maintaining a critical attitude thats allows for the defense against the dangers coming from the WorldWideWeb.

UNESCO approaches the question of media and informational competence, from the point of view of the Art.19 Of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that: ”Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.” Media education’s goal is to give the people full abilities to exercise that right.
Thanks for watching :)
