Good News! Part 1 (Series; 2020)

Good News!
October 2020
In October 2020, I began a new illustration series for social media. I'm drawing an image that highlights a semi-recent good story (primarily wildlife and conservation-related) every two weeks. It is so easy to get overwhelmed by the disastrous, depressing news, and feel like all is lost or at least wildly out of our control. I want to highlight that good things are happening. That the great efforts of dedicated people who care are actually making a difference. That there are still wonders to be discovered, and protected.

If nothing else, this series forces me to look for positive happenings and spend time dwelling on it as I work on the art. I hope it brings a little light to all of my viewers too.

Yellow-rumped leaf-eared mice found high on Llullaillaco, breaking record for highest-dwelling mammal. (source)
A remote camera's photo of a lynx in September 2020 finally offers indisputable proof that the feline has returned to Belgium after being extirpated in the early 1800s. (source)
