Dimension
I'm very honored to be able to speak at Adobe MAX most years, representing Adobe Dimension on behalf of the incredibly talented development team.  It's always challenging to come up with projects that show off what Dimension can do but fit into a relatively short time period and are easy to follow along with.  This year, I came up with this project: 'blue'.
In Part 1 I focus on teaching some of the overall fundamentals with a simple scene.  We cover some of the basics of working in Dimension, like adding models, moving the camera, applying basic materials and graphics, and creating a simple colored environment before rendering out our final image.
In Part 2 I showed how to create simple shapes to build up a 3D scene, work with more advanced materials like Substance material (parametric texturing) and translucent materials, as well as using UV export to design localized texturing details for the can.
I also created simple material masks to show how you could control specific properties of the material.  In this case I created a 'metallic' mask that made the colored areas of the pattern metallic while the label and blue background areas were non metallic.
In Part 3 we learn about lighting, including Image Based Lights (IBLs), directional lights, and glowing materials, then also learn about compositing 3D into photographic background images as a shorter path than creating full 3D scenes.
