Design Achievement
Marysville Civic Campus is a downtown redevelopment project that includes a Master Plan for the eventual buildout of a community center, city hall, police station, courts, jail, and firing range. The complex sits on the edge of the City’s historic Comeford Park and will be seamlessly integrated into this important community gathering spot. The first project of the master plan began with the city’s 60,000 SF public safety building, which includes a police and courts building as well as the jail. The project is seeking LEED Silver Certification and has implemented WELL Building measures. A major feature of the campus design is the boulevard that will eventually connect several blocks to the waterfront. The City of Marysville envisions this boulevard as a pedestrian-friendly corridor that encourages community activities and events. Deep interaction with City staff and commissioners during planning and design resulted in a design aesthetic that reflects Marysville’s vision for the future.

Scope Summary
The Police Station in Marysville stands as a vital support system for commissioned officers serving one of the nation's rapidly expanding communities. The facility encompasses a wide range of spaces, including records, administration, investigations, patrol, armory, evidence, and training areas. Adjacent to the police facility lies a fully equipped, 84-bed jail, with the potential to expand to accommodate 160 beds. With an emphasis on transparency in city government, the architecture features warm wood tones and extensive glazing, creating an inviting atmosphere for the public. In addition to the physical structures, a comprehensive wayfinding and signage package was developed as part of the project. This package sets a precedent for future campus signage expansions and holds the potential to be implemented citywide. To reinforce the community's forward-thinking direction, the signage incorporates Marysville's newly announced brand update. DLR Group, in collaboration with lead architect Botesch Nash & Hall Architects, provided all planning, programming, architecture, and experiential graphic design services for this noteworthy project, ensuring a cohesive and future-oriented approach to the facility's design.
