Aim.

Creating the bathroom shower chair with the lever principle to support the elderly to stand from the chair easily and safely.
Introduction.

When the elderly are showering, it becomes difficult for the elderly to use their strength to stand up, moving from sitting to standing position seems to be the most dangerous period in the bathroom due to the weak hand grip and the unbalance of the elderly. Also, for the elderly with high self-esteem who do not want people to help them.
Lever Principle.

By improving the structure of the existing shower seat and using the lever principle, the goal of the design is to ensure that the elderly can stand by themselves without external assistance. The weight of the armrest pressed down by the human body would transform into the driving force of the seat surface lifting when standing up.
Technique Needs.

All components are fixed by screws (M10 and M4), also to achieve a product design that can be manufactured in small production, the manufacturing technology focuses on laser cutting, CNC milling, and metal bending.
Design for Manufacture.

The handle and backrest adopt 3003 aluminum that needs to be cut by laser cutting and bent into a certain shape and angle. The leg requires a 3003 aluminum tube and is annealed for heating along the bend line. All of the other parts would be made of teak wood which uses CNC to mill to the specific or required form.
