October is an unofficial holiday for artists and illustrators. Created by Jake Parker, Inktober offers us the chance to flex our creative muscles and work from a predetermined list of prompts each day of the month.

To make it more challenging for me, I created a set of parameters to work from for this year. My personal rules: the illustrations had to be related to food in some way and use a limited color palette. Otherwise, all bets were off, and I let myself take some *very* creative licenses with the prompts.
My favorite part is coming up with the solution for the prompt. I use the thesaurus and other word tools to find ways of stretching the prompt into something new an unexpected. Of the lot, i think my personal favorite solution is the one for rose-colored glasses (original word: hope) and the chef gordon ramses ii one (original word: chef.)

It was a fun run, and I'm already looking forward to next year's list!

(Btw, you can find a lot of these up on my TeePublic store incase you need to stock up on your pun shirts! teepublic.com/user/zacrizy)
