What to Expect in a Teacher Training for Bikram Yoga

A former district manager at Automatic Data Processing in San Fransisco, Sara Haderle of Redwood City was awarded the distinguished honor of President's Club in 2002 for his outstanding performance. A Bikram yoga practitioner, Sara Haderle plans to take a three-month teacher training course to become a certified trainer.

Through yoga, some people have been able to live lives different from what they've always known. Bikram yoga is a narrower type that focuses on specific 26 set poses and two breathing exercises. For every 90-minute class, each set of posture and exercise is repeated in a particular order under room temperatures reaching 40 degrees celsius and 40 percent humidity.

Teacher training for Bikram yoga consists of 60 hours of immersion, and 200 hours or 300 hours of training, according to the hot yoga spot. The courses will equip teachers with the original philosophy and technique of hot yoga. The training will cover both the physical and philosophical aspects of training a class.

These training sessions are suitable for individuals of all age brackets, the young and the aged. Each person comes with specific goals in mind. While some hope to teach a yoga class, some hope to take their yoga practice to higher levels.
