we all know this limbo phase- we all know birth too, but we tend to forget that before birth there is labour. hours and hours of suffering through contractions and pushing with all your might until it’s finally time, you can hold your baby. we think of birth as the final outcome, we only think of final outcomes, and we expect change to happen as fast as we scroll down our feeds thirsty for new content. we don’t dig holes in the earth anymore and we forgot how long it takes for seeds to sprout, and for sprouts to turn into trees, and for trees to birth fruits that are ripe enough to eat. how about the in between time? who talks about this limbo phase we all know? the phase of waiting? let’s embrace the time it takes for change to come, let’s appreciate the hard work of the seed to suck in all the moisture before bursting out roots, the work of the baby to turn around and face the exit of the womb before going through a small death of everything it knows as reality, the work of ourselves to fight our habits and our own selves before transitioning to the next stage. 

“lie in wait” visualises the in between phase, the limbo, both the tangible and poetic change and invites us to slow down and look at it, without expecting it to be anything more than what it is. everything takes time. let’s lie in wait.
