I was lucky to do another cute splash! This splash was the fastest to be approved. Usually it takes 2 weeks to get an approved color thumbnail, but in this image, I was able to get it all done in just one week. I guess, since the character is fairly simple, I had extra time to hasten the process.

At first Kog'Maw only had dappled light on top. I was also still figuring out how much I should follow the 3D and concept art. Then I received a paint-over from Esben and he made it so much cuter and also added the light hitting Kog'Maws nose. I realized that I was playing too safe and I should've pushed the stylization more. This is something I'm still learning until now.
