The Ugly Duckling is an interactive storybook, developed by Kaleidoscópio Studio.
This amazing project was created together with Ana Camargo, a brilliant game, educational and narrative designer.
I was responsable for create the art direction, storyboards, concept arts, animations and Unity implementation.
Our main objective was to re-tell an important story in a more approachable way to the youngest generations. Through tech, we adapt the book content, trying to recreate the same experience from the original work allying visual + sound + text + reader’s agency.
We do NOT TRANSCRIPT THE ENTIRE BOOK. More than just text, we try to recreate the most important scenes to evoke the same feelings the author intended, using other elements as well.
