Therapy and Guidance for Black youth

"Prickly", touchy, vulnerable, defiant – it's all about teenagers. We all remember that overwhelming period of transition from childhood to becoming adult, when it was so difficult to understand and accept everything that was changing around you. Sadly, for many teens this uncertainty results in exposure to a wide variety of mental health issues. Depressed teens often experience significant emotional and sometimes physical pain, but may not know what to do to make it better or find the help that they need. Helping youth is the main idea behind the app.

The app is designed to provide expert guidance and support for Black youth in New York City who are starting therapy. This app offers activities and videos that accompany users on their therapy journey, together with scheduling and reminders to help them stay engaged and make progress. Each teen is assigned a Therapist, who uploads video answers to some of the most common questions from youth on the profile page. App also contains additional content from celebrities - motivational pop-up quotes, life stories and advices. As you progress in weeks, other youth stories, activities and features unlock to you. From how to talk to your friends or family about therapy to the best videos on mindfulness or yoga, this app is your tool to help get the most out of therapy
