Aiding Communtiy and Knowledge was a project that I was a part of in college. The project was brought to us and facilitated by members of a Bangalore based media and arts collective known as Maraa.

 

The project had a specific issue as it’s focus—gauging the efficacy or inefficacy of the Aganwadi System as it functioned in the slum of Devana Jeevana Hali and designing media based interventions of some form.

 

Among other things our team discovered a huge information gap between government data and documentation and the actual users of the Anganwadi System. People simply did not know what services they could avail of, or even how an Anganwadi is supposed to work.

 

We realized that Infographic Posters, which provided basic information on what and for whom Anganwadi Services are, would have to be part of any intervention.
