I made these paintings from scenes out of the movie Unbroken, which is one of my favourite movies. To me the paintings are like little quick sketches. I tried not to spent too much time on them, since I didn't want to lose myself in the details and I just wanted to sketch the general mood. I didn't draw the scenes with a pencil before I painted them, because that way I feel like the paintings are more intuitive. This way of painting is something I really love to do and I use it for different subjects. I once made quick sketches of animals and it felt great to directly start with paint and to not worry too much about anatomy or precise details. I mainly use acrylic paint and these paintings were made on A5 paper.
