ABA Set to Pilot New Exam Format from 2020

Based in Silver Spring, Aarohi Ambardekar, MD is a medical professional with over 15 years of experience in the field, during which time he has primarily worked with Southern Maryland Anesthesia Associates. Alongside this, Dr. Aarohi Ambardekar is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).

The American Board of Anesthesiology, which holds a variety of exams for members and medical professionals throughout the year, recently announced that it would pilot three-response multiple-choice questions in upcoming exams. The ABA stated that this will primarily be seen as the trial will affect the pediatric anesthesiology and critical care medicine exams, as well as the in-training exams for both.

The organization has previously used a four-response option but notes that the three-response option is much more optimized for multiple-choice questions. For the upcoming 2020 exams, the ABA says that people receiving their MOCA Minute exams in 2020 will have questions with three-response and four-response options.
