My final project for my draw 100 class at Savannah College of Art and Design(SCAD). I was inspired by Rene Magritte’s Perspective (1963). The coffin he drew appears to be sitting on a curb waiting for something.

This made me think of how we sometimes sit on the sidelines instead of taking action.

The open coffin represents you finally breaking away from your constraints, whatever they maybe.

The hand tree is you finally reaching out towards your dream and the small branches on the fingers is your ideas finally blooming.

The structure at the top of the hill is your goal and you fill that structure with whatever dreams you desire. Not letting anything hold you back.

The road to your dreams is rocky and a bit worn like the path in my drawing.

This was my first surrealism piece.
