SMI Interim 2023
Pause- Unplug- Play
Brief
Srishti Manipal Institute hosts an Interim each year and this year, our interim was 3 weeks long wherein we worked together to build games that would help our community pause, unplug from their chaotic days and play to let loose. With the popularisation of 'hustle culture', creating a balance between work and play has become all the more crucial. We particularly wanted to build games that don’t have rules or strategies and aren’t long, hence they don’t need explanations and could be a quick activity between classes.
How to play this game
Markings are made at the boundaries of the tyre (illustrated below). Spin the wheel and the colour that lands in front of you is the colour you must take the marble to.

For example, yellow is the colour that landed towards you after spinning. You are now supposed to take the marble towards the yellow dot on the maze without touching the marble directly. The video below demonstrates the same.
Characteristics of Bhool Bhulaiya
This Wheel Maze was constructed using scrap material that has been collected over a long period of time in the attic of one of our college buildings and 4mm MDF boards. Our process of making this game was very hands-on and most of our ideations happened through making. The game is to be played entirely manually.

This process of contracting this game involved cutting and smoothening of metal, laser cutting of 4mm MDF board for the boundary of the wheel and for the maze itself and painting.
