Sailing Energy are Jesús and Pedro, two experienced photographers based in Mallorca specialised in sailing action photography. They travel around the world shooting on events like the America’s Cup, Ocean Race, SailGP and many more. Clients go from industry brands to sailing competitions, international federations or luxury yachts.
They approached me to refresh their logo and develop a new brand identity, the goal: improve Sailing Energy’s image, showing evolution, professionalism and trust to current and new clients.
Logo concept
To achieve the initial goal, the focus is on the brand's name, Sailing Energy, with the addition of a central frame recalling their profession, photography. This frame has a fundamental role in the application of the new Branding, adding dynamism and differentiation.
The typeface used is Oswald, a strong Sans Serif with a lot of character that gives very good legibility, a modern look and lasts over time. An 11º vertical tilt was applied to the name, adding the dynamism required, and this same tilt has been used for the central frame. This frame changes position depending on the version of the logo, adapting to any situation.
In terms of color, the combination of Carolina Blue and Altamar Black is perfect to convey the trust and stability of Sailing Energy as an expert company in the sector, as well as showing the elegance, confidence, distinctiveness and strength of who they are now.
