Pirate Skull Vector

This was a project for an e-zine I needed to do as part of my NVQ, I chose to create a little instructional leaflet on how to draw with a Drawing tablet using Adobe Illustrator. This is the progress of the drawing I did.
Started out with the original hand drawing, and had it on a seperate layer with the opacity turned down. (I do not claim ownership)
Then I moved onto drawing the basic outline using pressure to get the desired ends to the lines, as this is the style of work that I really enjoy.
After I have the lines all drawn out exactly how I want, I get on with the shading, again using pressure to get pointed edges that I want. But in places where for example the jaw meets the skull, I left a white gap so you can still see the definition.
Here is a closer shot of the detail so you can see all the shading techniques, and how I do them personally.
And then we get the final product! I didnt want to add colour to this drawing as I believe it does look rather nice just plain black.
Thankyou For Viewing!
Ben.
