The Power of Poison is the Fall 2013 exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History. Everything from a rain forest with poisonous creatures, a look at venom, toxins, cultural and mythical uses of poison to forensics, medicinal uses, literary references and famous poisonings in history are explored. Visitors are invited to be detectives in unearthing clues to causes of poisonings. Several months before the exhibition opens the marketing visuals are begun. This particular assignment called for the tactful showing of something as ominous as the subject of poison in an environment of wonder and curiosity that is family-friendly. Here are several designs from an initial exploratory creative presentation.
